The teaching style in a højskole is not like the one you know from high school or university. The approach to learning is playful, explorative and driven by excitement. All of our teachers are passionate and committed to the subjects they teach, but the good learning experience happens in the collaboration with just as curios and committed students. The teachers will meet you, on your level with classes adapted to the diversity of the students who participate, with plenty of opportunity for you to share your ideas and opinions about the content of the class.

At Nordfyns Folk High School, diversity isn't limited to the nationalities and social backgrounds of our staff and students—it extends to the wide array of subjects we offer. You have the freedom to shape your schedule as you see fit, creating a unique and tailored learning experience. The A-, B- and C-subjects are the main subjects, giving you the opportunity to explore three subjects that complement each other or diverge in entirely different directions, all without compromise. The D-, E- and F-subjects are the elective subjects, which offer you exciting opportunities to step into new realms, challenge yourself, and really add variation to your schedule. Whether you are passionate about global or social change, love the feeling in your body after a day of physical activity and sports, or are fascinated by the concept of self-sufficiency, we are sure you'll feel at home at Nordfyns Folk High School.

Culture night

Community learning and shared exploration for all

Wednesday afternoon is Culture Night for the entire school. This subject focuses on shared exploration and gaining fresh perspectives on current societal events. Culture Nights are organized through the joint efforts of both teachers and students and can be anything from lively sing-along sessions to presentations on human rights. They may also include workshops where we actively engage with the Sustainable Development Goals or a fashion show featuring student-created up-cycled clothing. The keywords are humans, society, democracy, and social responsibility.
