The people that make it all happen
Here, you can meet the personalities behind Nordfyns. You’ll find us behind screens, on the floor, in the kitchen, and in the classrooms. We’re a colorful bunch who love creating experiences, sparking curiosity — and stirring up a little good-natured chaos. Can’t wait to meet you!

Babak Fadavi Kornerup
Principal
babak@nordfyns.nu
Not a single day is the same at Nordfyns Højskole. All the different people bring their own life energy and peculiarity. The amazing thing is when the energy starts to take shape and it becomes one community.
Momoyo Jørgensen
Vice principal
momoyo@nordfyns.nu
I love the meeting with every single student and to explore their world. When our worlds collide we can create a common space where there is room for wonder and reflection. That is the main purpose of being a folk high school teacher.

You don't have to be at Nordfyns for long in order to experience how special a place you are. You enter a place where togetherness and learning really merge.
Louise Sølling Mortensen
Head of communications and Teacher
louise@nordfyns.nu
To me there is no better feeling, than the feeling of creating something together. The magic happens when ideas meet, grow and become reality - become more than the individual who thought of them.

At Nordfyns Højskole, we find and create the magic of life together. Nobody knows where the journey will end but if we explore together with open hearts, we will end up a place yoy didn't even know existed.

Masha Mashkura Sabivora
Housekeeper
masha@nordfyns.nu
The energy and atmosphere when you walk around the area of the school is unique. To feel and at the same time be a part of a growing community is a wonderful experince. Extremly close ties are made in a short time, in the creation of strong friendships.
Signe Agerbæk Nielsen
Head of the kitchen
signe@nordfyns.nu
Signe has been a scout for 19 years — the last 8 as a leader — so she knows how to start a fire in the rain and keep her cool when things heat up in the kitchen. She trained as a chef in 2019 and loves everything to do with food, especially when she gets to create dishes that taste great and bring people together. Oh, and she also renovated her entire house… because why not?
Neel Engholm Jensen
Kitchen

Yoko Kato
Kitchen assistant
yoko@nordfyns.nu
Yoko first came to Denmark in the fall of ’99 — and somehow just never made it back home. In Japan, she worked at a childcare institution and was curious about the Danish approach to social welfare. That curiosity led her to a Danish-Japanese folk high school (yes, ours!) — a decision that turned out to be a major turning point in her life. After her stay, she decided to stick around, and in a mysterious — yet wonderful — way, she’s now a permanent part of our kitchen team.
Nicolai Schmidt
Janitor
nicolai@nordfyns.nu
Nicolai has been a carpenter since 1995, and he loves putting his skills to use in everyday life at the school — while meeting all kinds of different people. Outside of work, he spends time with his wife (who he’s known for 25 years!), their two kids, and friends. When he’s not hanging out with family, you’ll find him on the badminton court or cycling along the country roads of Funen.
Torsten Tadajewski
Janitor assistant
torsten@nordfyns.nu
Torsten has been part of Nordfyns since 2006(!), and according to him, there’s simply no better place to be. You’ll often find him in the gardens or around the school buildings, making sure everything runs smoothly. He gets his energy from meeting young people from all over the world every day. In his free time, he enjoys nature, wildlife, and taking his caravan out on new adventures.

Dicover the atmospehre, closeness and magic of community
Going to folk high school gave me the opportunity to stop up, listen to my heart, and discover that to me, joy is when I get to do things in my own pace. I hope that future students are ready to enjoy the present moment and the closeness in the conversations that you will have both with your new friends and yourself.
