MMA - Mixed Martial Arts
Curious to try out different disciplines from the world of martial arts? MMA at Nordfyns Højskole is for those who want to challenge themselves physically while learning to collaborate with others. Through a combination of cardio, strength, and martial arts, we develop coordination, power, and a strong sense of community – and along the way, we get to know both ourselves and each other better.

Foundation
MMA – or Mixed Martial Arts – is a modern form of combat sport that combines selected techniques from various disciplines to overcome the opponent.
In MMA at Nordfyns Højskole, you'll get the chance to try out techniques from Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling, kickboxing, and more.
We start from the basics and gradually build up as the group progresses. The most important thing is that you're curious about MMA and willing to challenge yourself – both physically and mentally.
In class, we work on becoming comfortable with the close physical contact that MMA requires. We learn to recognize, and respect, each other's strengths and weaknesses. And of course, you'll improve your technique while working up a good sweat!

SIGURD RØMER
Sigurd has practiced martial arts since childhood and has focused on MMA for the past six years. He has trained with some of the world’s top UFC fighters and is both Danish and Nordic champion in the discipline. He has been teaching for five years!
