What will we be doing in the elective subject?
Bodily movement and speed in play with challenging terrain.
We dive into the world of mountain biking, focusing on different techniques and terrain shapes. We learn about downhill, cross-country and trail rides and how to adapt your riding style and technique to the terrain. We explore different trails and natural areas where students are given the opportunity to practice and improve their skills under expert guidance. We are also looking at maintenance and repair of mountain bikes, so students can handle common problems and maintenance tasks themselves. This includes everything from adjusting gears and brakes to properly cleaning and lubricating the bike.
In addition, there will be sessions where we discuss safety on the trails, including proper use of helmet and protective equipment. We also plan excursions to local trails and maybe even organized trips to well-known mountain bike destinations. The timetable at the folk high school is flexible, so the range of specific elective subjects can be seasonal based on weather and vary due to the weather. availability by the teacher for specific elective subjects, as well as how many course participants sign up for each elective subject.
