Study trip
We live more intensely, when we travel
When we travel, we gain the opportunity to learn and understand the cultures that are outside our own borders, and at Nordfyns we try to cultivate and highlight this knowledge of other cultures and the people who define them.
Our common ground
A journey towards new knowledge, new cultural contexts, and new inspiration
During your stay at Nordfyns, you will have the opportunity to experience the world's cultural diversity and richness both at home and abroad. Travelling can give us an insight into how things are put together in different ways around the world. When we travel, we have the opportunity to meet and understand the cultures that are outside our own cultural context. We will facilitate this meeting for you, when you get to go on a study trip to Nordfyns.
There is no doubt that the world is at times lacking empathy, and on Nordfyns study trips, you will experience some of the issues and focal points that characterise the world community first-hand, as well as natural sights and new opportunities for physical fulfilment.
At Nordfyns, we believe that the encounter with familiar and usual destinations from unusual perspectives can make way for new valuable knowledge. Knowledge that can help expand your cultural horizons. Prior to the study trip, you will learn about the historical context and some of the reasons behind your destination's nature, culture and political state today.
At Nordfyns, we are aware of the sustainability of our study trips, and, as many others, we limit our carbon footprint where it is possible. We believe that it is important to facilitate encounters with other cultures outside our own cultural context. This meeting is crucial to finding global solutions to global issues. It pays to travel by plane if the journey results in a deep understanding and insight into global sociopolitical issues, so that the CO2 emissions are offset.
What can you expect from your study trip?
Become inspired by the healthy culture shock
You will be challenged in your encounter with new cultures, as these can be overwhelming to experience when you are used to a different cultural context. We choose to consider the cultural shock as an opportunity and a catalyst for new inspiration and education. Something that will provide you with important tools for problem solving on a global level.
You will gain the opportunity to experience well-known travel destinations from a different approach. On our study trips, we choose to focus on culture as well as the political focal points that are located at our destinations, as well as the many possibilities for physical fulfilment you will become acquainted with in your encounter with other cultures.
The journey can help you feel a sense of solidarity with other cultures and societies, which contributes to the healthy development of compassion and empathy.
Our Destinations
See where we have previously been on study trips here
Berlin
Berlin is the city of contrasts, where new and old are constantly colliding in exciting nuances. In its current state, the city has only been a reality since the fall of the Berlin Wall, just over 32 years ago, and before the landmark event, Berlin has been home to a wild and exciting history filled with rich narratives. Today, Berlin can be described as a city of surprises and life, which we will experience with body, soul and senses.
Calais/Brussels
Experience standing in the epicentres of two vastly different worlds and two vastly different ways in which the refugee crisis is being handled and gain insight into a multifaceted issue. Despite the differences between these worlds, you will be able to see how connected we are, both in the conflicts we jointly handle, and geographically, when we only travel by train and bus on the study trip.
Bosnia & Balkan
Balkans is a fascinating encounter. A chaotic melting pot of conflict, joy of life, anarchy, past, and future. An area where cultures collide and enrich each other simultaneously. Join us on an exciting journey to Bosnia and be part of experiencing the Balkans from new perspectives.
