On this elective subject, you will get a thorough introduction to baking.
We bake bread with or without yeast, cold-raised bread, sourdough bread, etc. We explore different options with new varieties and old varieties of grains, that are known in baking bread.
It’s also planned that we are going to bake cakes, muffins, cookies, etc. The purpose of this elective subject is to explore and learn from different food cultures around the world. We want to know how different techniques and materials are used in the world of baking. On the basis of this purpose, we are going to visit a danish bakery and/or a school, to seek inspiration in our way to bake.
The schedule at Nordfyns Folk High School is flexible. That’s why the supply of elective subjects can be seasonally elected. The disposal of the individual teachers does also have an impact on the elective subject that will be offered, as well as the number of enrolled students in each subject.
