How do you live at Nordfyns Højskole?
At Nordfyns Højskole, we offer both shared rooms and single rooms. Most of our students live in shared rooms with a roommate. For many, this becomes a big part of the folk high school experience – it’s nice to have someone to share everyday life with, and many students form especially close friendships this way. Shared rooms are also the most affordable housing option at the school.
If you dream of having a bit more quiet time or simply prefer living on your own, single rooms are also an option. However, we only have a limited number available, so it depends on availability and demand.
The school is built like a small village, with student rooms spread across different buildings around campus. This creates a cozy and homely atmosphere where you feel close to the community while still having space for yourself.
When you move in, your room will usually be a fairly blank canvas. That’s why many students quickly make it their own with posters, photos, plants, fairy lights, pillows, and other cozy personal touches. It’s always fun to see how the rooms develop and take on their own unique atmosphere throughout the semester.
