Gender & Body

In the elective subject Gender & Body, we use curiosity and an investigative approach to explore how gender, body, and sexuality play a role in our lives – personally, culturally, and socially. This is a space for both questions, discussions and disagreements, and we work on challenging our own assumptions and learning together.

What do we do in class?

Who am I – and who decides that?

This subject isn’t about finding the right answers, but about getting better at asking questions: Why do beauty standards matter so much? Where do our ideas about gender roles come from – and who benefits from them? How do social media influence our relationship with our bodies and with each other? And what does it really mean to understand your own sensuality and sexuality?

We will explore and discuss subjects like

Gender, gender identity, and gender expression
Body ideals and body shame
Sexuality, sensuality, and desire
Love, relationships, and consent
Gender roles and beauty standards across cultures and from a historical perspective
Norms – and how we can challenge them through dialogue and reflection

Du skal ikke kunne noget på forhånd – bare have lyst til at være nysgerrig og undersøgende, og mod på at lytte og blive lyttet til.

Vi tager udgangspunkt i samtale og fælles nysgerrighed, og faget bygger på en normkritisk tilgang. Vi arbejder både med debat, elevdrevne projekter, kropslige øvelser og kreativ aktivisme.

Faget giver dig ikke bare viden og sprog til at tale om køn og krop – men også modet og redskaberne til at tage del i samtaler, der betyder noget.
